Who am I? I'm Tom Auterman, a Metro Detroiter who's active in real estate investing.
I help others buy, sell and invest in real estate as a consultant and licensed agent.
I'm also a digital marketer and amateur economist (see my favorite data in the Charts section!).
Previously, I helped start and manage a technical staffing firm, worked as a strategy management consultant for a global professional services firm, and worked in sales and marketing for a luxury automobile manufacturer. I live in West Bloomfield, MI with my wife, and have three wonderful adult children.
In my spare time I run the largest real estate investment Facebook group in Michigan, the Metro Detroit Real Estate Investors Group, which provides helpful info daily and I host monthly in-person meetups.
I'm a proud grad of the University of Michigan's Mechanical Engineering program and earned an MBA in Finance with a Real Estate concentration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Housing inventory levels have been in the news lately. Some areas have more houses on the market than pre-Covid while others area still way lower than before. What's going on in Metro Detroit? Is it different between the suburbs and the city?
